Karkala, May 20: Vishreet Poojary, a land broker who had allegedly duped his partners and customers of lacs of rupees has been traced by the Karkala police in Goa. He has been brought back to Karkala from Goa.

Vishreet Poojary (26), a resident of Anekere Bailadka Bhagavathi here had gone absconding since February 17, after saying he was going to Bangalore on some urgent work. He had said he was going to Bangalore to return the brokerage money to his partners Sooraj and Ajay.

On February 20 afternoon at around 12 noon, he called his wife and said he would be transferring some money to her account, after which his mobile phone remained switched off, as stated in the complaint given by his wife Shailaja Hegde.

Vishreet fell in love with Shailaja Hegde in his teens and married her later. With dreams of leading a luxurious life, he stepped into the field of land trading. He then cunningly trapped his business partners and put them under heavy loss. During investigation, the police found that he had taken his partners Sooraj and Ajay to Madikeri and duped them of several lacs of rupees by showing them some acres of land and introducing some unknown person as the owner of that land.

When he realized his game was up, he left for Goa and took refuge there. The police however managed to trace him down and have been successful in taking him into custody.

Five SIM cards: Vishreet possessed 5 SIM cards of various network providers and used it to cheat his customers and partners, it is learnt. Though he studied up to PU only, he is fluent in Kannada, Tulu, Hindi, English and Konkani. More details will be revealed once the investigations are over, police said.

Well, he is smart and knows the art to fool the people.

The brokerage amount is always debatable and therefore, can not accuse him fraud unless he borrowed money and duped.

The man with cheating intention will always look for soft targets but we should be careful.Anyway, this is a commission money, earned without any investment.

I think a solid case can not be built against him on the current information what we read now.

    Hi Bhandarkar,

Let the secret remain a secret. It's better to be non-performing hero rather than have courage to reveal past success.

Reading this I think his name should have been 'Vipareeta Poojary' instead
    of Vishreet.
Sometimes if you fall in 'love' in your teens all these things happen. Logic goes for a toss and then finally you go too and there is nobody to catch when you are falling down. This 'fall' hurts.
The music you hear here is different from the one you hear when you 'fall in love'. When falling in love it is 'Sitar or Guitar', whilst 'falling down' it is 'Marana Mradanga' or something of that sort. There are many who have 'experienced it' but do not have the guts even later to reveal.
