Udupi: Newly-built Kulal Bhavan at Perdoor inaugurated

Udupi, May 18: The newly-built Kulal Bhavan (community hall) was inaugurated at Bukkigudde, Perdoor here on Sunday May 18. The programme was organized by Kulal Sangha, Perdoor.

Sri Mohandas Paramahamsa Swamiji of Mahalaxmi temple, Manila, Bantwal, inaugurated the building and blessed the gathering.

In his address he called upon the community to be united and strive together for its progress.

"This is the right time to think and understand the facts of life. A human is a bundle of desires; he always craves for happiness," he said.

"Our children are the wealth of our nation; so parents must make them socially sensitive by telling them the importance of moral values and compassion along with providing sound education. Internal as well as external purity in society is the need of the hour."

Vinay Kumar Sorake, the district incharge minister said, "Every individual is talented. Dr Ammembala Balappa, among whose followers was former minister George Fernandes, was the backbone of Kulal community."

He promised a grant of Rs 2 lac to the community on yearly basis during his term.

He stressed on the importance and role of social and community organizations in promoting education.

Ram Kulal Pakkalu, the president of Kulal Sangha presided over the programme.

Lalaji Mendon, former MLA of Kaup, 'Kulal Ratna' Dr M V Kulal, Pramod Madhwaraj, Udupi MLA, Dr M Annayya Kulal Ultur, Vijay Ballal, Kota Srinivas Poojary, former minister, Raghupati Bhat, for MLA, B N Shankar Poojary and others were present.
