Mumbai, May 18 (IANS): Debutant actress Patralekha says director Hansal Mehta and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt didn't cast her in "Citylights" because of her relationship with actor Rajkummar Rao.
"Do you think that Bhatt sahib and Hansal Mehta will cast me because I am in a relationship? Of course not. You can't take that credit away from them. Hansal sir will never compromise with his work."
"I will suggest please go and watch the film then everybody will realise I didn't get the film because I am dating Rajkummar," Patralekha told IANS.
Talking about her relationship with the "Shahid" actor, she said: "I know him since a couple of years. So, there is nothing to talk about it. I am 24 and he is 28. So, we are bound to be in a relationship and that's it."
When asked if she feels this is the perfect launch for her, Patralekha said: "First thing is that Bhatt sahib is launching me. What more can I ask for? Rajkummar is in the film so, I got confidence. Besides, I am not from this industry. So, for what do I wait? I am happy and excited for this."
"Cityligts" is an adaptation of British film "Metro Manila".
