Udupi, May 17: A chicken stall owner was allegedly assaulted by seven persons at Hoode here on Saturday May 17, for no apparent reason.

Mohammed Ais (42), a resident near Hoode fish market was allegedly assaulted by the group. He was later admitted to Ajjarkad hospital.

Mohammed runs a chicken stall and has a catering business too.

It is said that on Saturday evening, seven persons came in four bikes and barged into his stall and reportedly assaulted him with soda bottles. When he tried to escape, one of them caught him while the others attacked. He somehow managed to free himself and ran for his life.

Mohammed said that while being chased, the attackers even pushed his 10-year-old daughter aside.

Of the seven persons, Mohammed identified two as Nithin Poojary Hoode and Ganesh. The other five were unknown to him, he said.

Mohammed said he did not know the motive behind the attack, but in his statement to the media, expressed suspicion that the minor tension that prevailed during BJP's victory rally on May 16 in Hoode may have been the reason.

He further said that following the tension at Hoode during the victory celebration a person by name Fahad called MLA Pramod Madhawaraj and then district incharge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, but when they did not respond, he called KPCC secretary M A Ghafoor who asked the police to tighten the security at Hoode. However, Mohammed complained that though police personnel were present at the time of the attack on Saturday, they did not come to his rescue.

Mohammed said that at the time of the incident, he had just prepared food at a cost of Rs 50,000 as part of his catering business for a nearby school, but as shards of broken soda bottles fell into the vessels containing the food, it all went waste, he said.

Malpe police have registered a case in this regard.

Guys, I knew it you all looking for such incidents and trying to make it another "Pub Attack" like nation wide issue . Don't blame "Modi" for everything. If Modi was wrong he'd never get that majority nationwide. Now let the police handle this issue and if "Saint Mohammed Ais" is right and BJP workers who assaulted him were wrong give them hardest punishment so that others (both community) should not dare to do such unlawful acts. Also, please don't forget what Mr. Modi answered in his interview against the question of wearing skull cap "If anybody tries to disrespect to any religion, I keep that in mind to ensure harsh punishment for him."

Those miscreants must be punished Administration & police must ensure that law and order prevails and should never buckle to eternal pressures.

People commenting against Modi here in forum are not having any general knowledge.

    (a) Modi still not PM. In the record, still MM SIngh is PM
    (b) from last 1 year both central & state government was congress. Still so many incidents taken place. The same commentators were not blaming either central / state. After Modi swept the election, these gys remembered that there is central government (even though not yet in place)
    (c) The law and order is stae's poblem. If Siddu can not handle this, let him beg Modi for help. Modi will ensure all is well. The central government has no role to play till state requests for help.
    (d) Some guys are blaming here for the sake of blaming and at least trying to vent out the frustrtion that they have due to BJP swept the election. If they continue this attitude, then days are not very far to suffer.

Let them vent their frustration the way they want. From now on even if a stary cat spills Milk in their houses they will blame it on Modi but not their useless looser State Govt. Its ok, atleast let them be happy this way otherways if their frustration builds up its not good for the society. 2 rapists of the Minor were caught in Gujrath, now these guys will accuse of Gujrath Govt of sheltering the rapists, This is their mentality. You have proved that you have two tongues and biased mentality. Brother Rajesh in Gujarat riots more than 700 hindu brothers and sisters were killed, hundreds of Hindu sisters were raped. I have not seen any concern or condemnation of those events by you. Where was the law and order situation. Have you condemned the officers who failed to give protection to the oppressed.
