Kuwait, May 17: Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK), for the 14th year in succession, led by president Tharendra Shettigar, organized "Rasamanjari 2014" on Friday, May 16 at the American International School, Kamel Al Rayes Auditorium, Maidan Hawally,- Kuwait from 5:15 pm onwards.
The melodious event featured performances by prominent artistes from Mangalore, the young and versatile Nakul Abhyankar of Zee TV 'Sa Re Ga Ma' fame, multi-lingual performer Anitha D’Souza, folk song sensation Kalavathi Dayanand along with the famous RJ Zaheer Ahmed (Sahil), the charming host.
Tulu Koota successfully attracts larger and larger audiences year after year through their top-quality programmes every year. The gathered music-lovers enjoyed the every moment of the programme. The programme started with the traditional lighting of lamp by president Tharendra Shettigar, vice-president Harish Bhandary, general secretary Sathish Acharya and cultural secretary Suresh Salian along with the managing committee for the year 2014 Lionel Mascarenus(joint secretary), Vijaya Kairangal (treasurer), Rajesh Mendon (internal auditor), Ronald D’Souza (sports secretary), Ramesh Shekar Bhandary (welfare officer) and Faustine Pinto (PRO).
A welcome dance was performed by Upasana Dance Studio (choreographer :- Prathibha Menon) after the welcome speech of president Tharendra Shettigar.
RJ Zaheer Ahmed (Sahil) with his superb punch of multilingual compering entered the stage and introduced the musicians and artistes. The mesmerized entry of Nakul Abhyankar, Anitha D'Souza, Kalavathi Dayanand with the song ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ was simply memorable one with different pitches and extraordinary talent of the great singers. The evening was filled with superb soul stirring music, songs, style and performances by visiting artistes to the tune of music maestro Adrian Gomes. Visiting artistes Nakul Abhyankar, Anitha D'Souza, Kalavathi Dayanand along with local singers Gulf Voice of Mangalore Orson D’Souza, Santhosh Kunder and Laveena Praphulla rocked the stage with the choicest selection of energetic Kannada, Tulu, Hindi, Konkani and Beary music and dance tunes.
The music mood started with multilingual solo and duet songs Kadalaraaje (Tulu album), Volu ie ren (Konkani album), Koli kooguva Hottu (Kannada album), Mithwa (Hindi- Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna), Beary Song (Byari Album), Kaanadanthe Mayavadanu (Kannada- Anna Bond), Tere Mere Bichme (Hindi- Ek Dooje Keliye), Lele Lele Kandu (Tulu Album), Shilegalu Sangeethava Haadive (Kannada- Rathasapthami), Ram Chaye (Hindi- Ram Leela) and Paddayi Gange (Tulu- Kadala Mage).
After the first half session, Shubashis Goldar, Deputy Chief of Mission of Indian embassy Kuwait was welcomed to stage and honored by flower bouquets. He spoke few words appreciating the TKK social work. Visiting artistes, local artists, choreographers and sponsors were honored with flower bouquets and mementos. The era of music continued with mind blowing songs Kadala Poyyed (Tulu- Rang) Damadam Mast Kalandar (Hindi album), Ek Chaturanare (Hindi- Padosan), Fusion (Nakul-Kalavathi –Anitha) Gaganave Baagi (Kannada- Sanju Weds Geetha), Naanu Kolike Ranga (Kannada album), Lat Lag Gayee (Hindi- 'Race 2'), Maria Kitlen Sobit Tun Maria (Konkani- Mohd Rafi), Tune Maari Entriyaan (Hindi- Gunday) and Saari Fa Fall (Hindi- R Raj kumar).
Shodhan Prasad, the producer of ‘Nirel’ movie announced that the movie will be released this month end in coordination with Buntara Sangha Kuwait.
In between songs, rib tickling jokes were performed by Chandrahasa Shetty, Lucy Aranha, Shatish Saldanha, Lional Mascarenhas, Victor Saldanha, Alwin Dsouza Belmon, Mahesh Poojary and Rajesh Poojary. The audience thoroughly enjoyed foot tapping dances by Jovas XLNC (choreographer: Sudharshan D G), D'Illusion Group (choreographers: Vibin John and Eman Almel), Breakhouse Dance School (choreographer: Stedison), Ballerian School of Dance (choreographer : Sudhi) and KIS Fusion Stars (choreographer: Laveena Praphulla).
General secretary Sathish Acharya delivered vote of thanks. The programme was well compered by visiting artiste RJ Zaheer Ahmed (Sahil) and announcements were done by Bhavani Madhav, Shubha Shanubogue, Renita Lionel and Vijay Wilson. Music was provided by Music Maestro Adrian Gomes (keyboard, trumpet) along with Sajeev (tabla, dholak, bongo), Jabbar (electronic drum), Manoj (bass guitar) and Alston Gomes(lead/rhythm guitar. The programme was coordinated by Suresh Salian, sound by Illuminatins/Anand and stage was set by Ronald D’Souza. At the end audience danced with spirit for Baila session by Nakul, Kalavathi and Anitha. The well arranged programme came to an end with national anthem of India.
