Mangalore: Man assaulted by four for objecting to forcible conversion

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (DV)

Mangalore, May 16: A man was reportedly assaulted by a group of four near Noorani Jumma Masjid near Kumpala on Friday May 16 over a case of alleged conversion.

Mohammed Saleem (42) was reportedly assaulted by Mushtaq Ahmed, Baban Nawaz, J K Shouqat and Ashrath Hussain after prayers at around 1.45 pm.

Source said that the foursome have been forcibly converting people to their community and that they had already done so with three persons. When they did it for the fourth time, Saleem came to know about it and objected, telling them that forcible conversion was against the tenets of Islam.

It is said that Saleem had even filed a complaint with Ullal police two months ago but no action was taken.

On Friday, the four persons confronted Saleem near the mosque and arguments erupted between them. Saleem was allegedly thrashed by them, and was later admitted to hospital.

If conversion is against to the Islaam then why these peoples are going against to their religion. It says they do not respect their religious morals. I don't understand that what they will earn by adding just numbers. Converting someone means you are trying to break/spoil someone's relation. No God will accept such relation and God will definitely curse on one who do. To say that one is good no need any religion.

Arrest these 3 and put them in jail. these kind of anti social elements need to be kicked out of the country. Islam is a peace of relegeon. every relegeon needs to be respected. what the poilice was doing when a complaint was given. why was it nbot reported to the local MLA whois a muslim and he always bosts of communal harmony. i think the secular dakshina kannadigas need to protest this in mass.

    Something fishy here.

Conversion is not a laddoo that is forced down somebody's mouth forcibly. It is more of a changes in somebody's thoughts and beliefs. And nobody can control one's mind than person himself.....

So the concept of forced conversion is nothing but the fact that someone dislikes somebody else's beliefs and taught......and we have no right to interfere in someone's taught process.

Dear Mr. Zubair and Arun i agree your point of veiw and respect. I know very well about this issue and this is not related to conversion of religion. Actually its Jamat internal issue and Saleem and his men turned to communal direction. Every one knows very well about Saleem and his gunda gruop. So i request Noorani Jamat to take immediate action and ask saleem and his men to prove complaint what they given. So readers of Daiji world its fake issue saleem and his men want to create communal atmosphere in Kumpala. Brother and sisters of kumpala object against this issue and teach lesson to saleem and his person.Thank You

Forcefully converting people to islaam is strictly prohibited and it's a big sin. Islaam is the religion of peace and humanity. If the person accepts from the heart only he can be converted. Please follow the rules of quran and sahi hadees don't try to make own rules. Give respect and take respect from other religions not forcing them to convert.

Undhu full confusion marre, eren volthu vodeg conversion ndh artha aapuji. I don't know why are some religions such insecure that they want to increase their numbers by converting by pointing a gun or by a edge of a sword. Come on Guys, live your religion in between the four corners of your House. Don't make it a dirty linen in Public.
