Mangalore, May 14: Relating to the incident in which ruffians had gatecrashed into the office of a businessman at Bangrakulur in the city and posing death threats to him, the policemen belonging to the city crime branch (CCB) have arrested a person named Ruturaj Srikant Koth alias Lalya (20). Lalya is an accomplice of underground fugitive, Ravi Poojary, police said.
Srikant Koth, who belongs to Agashiva Nagar in Karad taluk in Maharashtra had illegally entered the office of a businessman at Bangrakulur in the city on March 3. He had fled after threatening the businessmen to eliminate him if he failed to fulfill the demands made by Poojary. Through an operation launched by the CCB police, Koth was taken into custody from Malkapur in Karad.
Relating to the case, some of the accused, Ganesh Laxman Saketh, Mukhesh Shivaji Kamble, Kamal Singh, and Dattatreya Tukaram Wagre, were arrested earlier. These persons were also involved with an incident of entering the office of a builder at Bijai Anegundi in the city within the limits of Urwa police station here, and demanding ransom. In that incident, they had fired from their gun before leaving the businessman's premises.
The operation to arrest the accused was led by CCB inspector, Valentine D'Souza, police sub-inspector, Shyam Sundar, and other personnel, acting under the directions of city police commissioner, R Hitendra, and guidance of deputy commissioners of police, Dr Jagadish and Vishnuvardhan.
