Bangalore, May 11: A girl from Mumbai was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by six men and left at HSR Layout here on the night of Saturday May 10.
The girl is employed at a firm in Bangalore. On Saturday night, she was on her way to her accomodation after work, when she was allegedly abducted by the six men who came in an Omni car.
The girl in her statement to the police said that the men took her to a secluded area some distance away and gang-raped her. They then left her at HSR Layout and sped away, she said.
The police filed a complaint based on her statement, but when they asked her to undergo medical examination to confirm rape, she reportedly refused. Nevertheless, she was coaxed into undergoing medical test at Vanivilas hospital, after which the rape was confirmed, it is learnt.
However, as per police sources, the girl is said to be in prostitution business. Moreover, her call records have revealed that on Saturday night she had called an agent, sources said. Hence, police are investigating to ascertain whether it was a case of gang-rape or illegal prostitution. A search for the six men is also on.
Another source said that the girl was forcibly taken by the men to a secluded building and gang-raped. The source said that when she tried to escape, they pushed her from the second floor of the building.
The girl has been admitted to a hospital with injuries on her back and legs, the source said.
