Ajman, May 8: Dr Wang Tsung-Hsi, the deputy-director general, department of medical affairs, ministry of health and welfare, Taiwan accompanied by a high level delegation visited the Gulf Medical University. The guests were received by Thumbay Moideen, the founder president of Gulf Medical University and Thumbay group UAE.
The visitors had elaborate discussions with the Thumbay group management to develop cooperation in the fields of medical education, health care, trading of medical equipments and disposables. The visitors were highly impressed with the advanced facilities available at the university and expressed their interest to join hands with the Gulf Medical University and GMC hospitals in research activities.
Wei Cheng-Yi, a research assistant, ministry of health and welfare, Teng Naichia, associate professor, Taipei Medical University and Tzou Chi-Chen, president Fa-Hair Clinic along with officials from the Taiwan Trade Center Dubai and Akbar Moideen Thumbay director operations Healthcare and Retail Division Thumbay group participated in the discussions.
Later the delegates were appraised about the facilities and met the academic leadership of the university. The visiting team was taken to the GMC Hospital Ajman to show them the facilities and services being offered by the hospital, which is the first JCI accredited hospital in Ajman.
The officials congratulated Moideen for establishing a world class institution and said that it stands out as one of the best and is comparable to advanced institutions in Europe and Asia.
Moideen has been invited to Taiwan to have personal meetings with the government officials and private institutions and organizations to take discussions forward and establish joint ventures.
Moideen has accepted the invitation and expressed his desire to develop mutually beneficial cooperation between leading institutions and organizations in Taiwan and Thumbay Group UAE in the near future.
