Mangalore: Kudos! PU toppers make city proud

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (BG)

Mangalore, May 8: The students of Dakshina Kannada have done the district proud by enabling it to secure the highest pass percentage in the state. Needless to add, the district has a fare share of toppers too.

Among the toppers is Venkatesh Kamath of Canara PU College, who scored a remarkable total of 594 in six subjects and bagged the first rank in PCME stream.

Venkatesh, Pooja and Sanchita

He secured cent percent marks in Chemistry, Mathematics and Electronics, and missed the three-digit mark in Physics by a whisker, scoring 99 out of 100.

Venkatesh is the proud son of G Suresh and Sudha Kamath. He has a sister by name Anjana Kamath.

Speaking to daijiworld, Venkatesh said that he aims to pursue engineering in electronics stream. He studied every day, preferably at night, and together with his own preparations, the frequent tests in his tutorials and college also helped him. He gave the credit for his success to his parents.

Pooja Baliga, daughter of Radhakrishna and Chandrika Baliga, secured the second rank in PCMS stream with a total of 593 marks out of 600. She tooo is a student of Canara College.

Sanchita Kamath of St Agnes College scored 100 in all the four core subjects in the commerce stream.

Sridevi Bhat from Expert PU College is another in the science stream, with a total of 590 marks. She is the daughter of Madhusudan and Bharati Bhat of Maryhill.

Congrats to the toppers. however my message here is mainly to the students who could not clear or have not got the marks they deserve or expected. Dear students, exams are only a way of testing knowledge.. the fame that follows after getting a rank etc is only for a week or two. Life does not become heaven for those who have secured ranks or 90%. They would be having their own ups and downs just like u.
So take the results with a smile on your face, try again harder those who did not clear and strive to make Ur future a better one irrespective of Ur marks.
I have myself seen success at its heights and also failure. Its out of this experience I tell u guys all this. God bless you all.

What is all this caste/community nonsense being posted here?
This is the sole reason India never progresses in many fields when compared to the west.

Try to appreciate the students efforts without bringing in the community aspect.
The students didn't work so hard just to make their community proud.
They just wanted to excel and worked hard..that's it!

All this arrogance with regards to community/caste/religion is what causes their downfall in the end.

Congratulations to the achievers. One thing is crystal clear one need not pay a whopping fee of Rs ONE LAKH and above to the so called self proclaimed best colleges of Mangalore. It is purely talent, hard work and proper guidance. Kudos to the Lecturers of Canara, St Agnes, Govinddasa PU Colleges. It is your students who ultimately rocked!

Congrats, very proud of all. D.K. and Udupi District always proves it's educational competency. Now we have to wait for SSLC result within a week. Past several years our district image came down. Chikkodi and Belguam Dist were grabbed our place. Even this year also as per the preliminary / advance information what collected Chikkodi and Belguam Dist. are going to be Toppers. This time it could be above 90%. Can this possible ? Why this trend is not continued in PUC results ? Do we accept this ? Let us wait for final results till 15.05.2014. I am sharing this information for analysing ourselves where is the hitch ?

Congratulations to PU toppers. Most of the toppers wants do Engineering. I do not know why their minds are so constrained towards engineering. Most of the talented students become engineers and waste their life in private companies serving US or Europe.
Rather students should think towards core science eduction and should serve our country
