Mangalore, May 8: The students of Dakshina Kannada have done the district proud by enabling it to secure the highest pass percentage in the state. Needless to add, the district has a fare share of toppers too.
Among the toppers is Venkatesh Kamath of Canara PU College, who scored a remarkable total of 594 in six subjects and bagged the first rank in PCME stream.

He secured cent percent marks in Chemistry, Mathematics and Electronics, and missed the three-digit mark in Physics by a whisker, scoring 99 out of 100.
Venkatesh is the proud son of G Suresh and Sudha Kamath. He has a sister by name Anjana Kamath.
Speaking to daijiworld, Venkatesh said that he aims to pursue engineering in electronics stream. He studied every day, preferably at night, and together with his own preparations, the frequent tests in his tutorials and college also helped him. He gave the credit for his success to his parents.
Pooja Baliga, daughter of Radhakrishna and Chandrika Baliga, secured the second rank in PCMS stream with a total of 593 marks out of 600. She tooo is a student of Canara College.
Sanchita Kamath of St Agnes College scored 100 in all the four core subjects in the commerce stream.
Sridevi Bhat from Expert PU College is another in the science stream, with a total of 590 marks. She is the daughter of Madhusudan and Bharati Bhat of Maryhill.
Dhanashree Deshpande, also of Expert PU College, scored a total of 588 marks in science stream. She is the daughter of Balwant and Bharati Deshpande from Dharwad.
