Earlier report
The all-important results of second year Pre-University exams will be announced on Thursday May 8.
The results will be announced on the website of Pre-University Education Board after 9 am. That apart, the results will be available on over 10 other websites.
It had earlier been speculated that the results would be out on May 10, however, at a meeting convened later, it was decided to announce the results on May 8. The meeting witnessed high drama as some wanted the declaration to be made on May 9 due to unavailibility of the primary and secondary education minister, while others insisted that it must be done on Thursday.
As per norms, the SSLC and PU results are announced by the primary and secondary education minister. However, sources said that the minister, Kimmane Ratnakar, had asked the officials to postpone the date as he was busy with some work in his constituency. But when it was met with opposition, he changed his mind and asked the officials to go ahead with Thursday May 8 as the day of results announcement.
The students will be able to view their results in the notice boards of respective colleges on Friday, said Rame Gowda, director in the department of PU education.
