Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, May 7: After a long lull, an incident of threatening visitors to the beach and robbing their belongings occurred at Tannirbavi beach near Panambur on Monday May 5. The Panambur police succeeded in swiftly swooping on the two miscreants involved with the case and arresting them.

The arrested youth have been identified as Hanish (21) from Kudroli Bengre, and Anil (20), a resident of Bokkapatna Bengre in the city. The policemen also recovered Rs 700 in cash, a motor bike, and some other items from their possession.

A resident of Gurpur named Sooraj Kumar was strolling around Tannirbavi beach in the company of a woman known to him on Monday, when these two persons suddenly approached the duo on a motor bike. They forcibly snatched away a purse, Rs 1,000 in cash, and two cell phones from their possession, it is said. Sooraj Kumar thereafter filed a complaint at Panambur station.

The policemen, who jumped into action immediately, set up barricades at various places and checked vehicles moving through them. The miscreants were taken into custody from near MRPL gate and produced in the court.

The incidence of robbery at Tannirbavi beach, which had increased over a period of time, had drastically come down after several measures were taken by the policemen to keep an eye on the activities there. The operation to nab the above culprits was undertaken by a team comprising police inspector, N R Mukti, police sub-inspector, Bharati G, and others.

Well done Police. Police can do wonders if they want to if political interference is not there.Secondly we expect the same kind action for every case by police thereby Mangalore will not be attractive to robbers.

Our place was so safe and good with out any such threats. now only it's increasing. it's very dangerous also. No mangalorean want these kind of bad incidents yaar. Lets help each other in stopping all these bitter incidents in our area. We should also be with police to get these culprits arrested and punished. Swift action by the cop. Bravo!!! Give them full rights to handle these type of situation and also reward them when the cops keep their complete area under full control without any incident, such as robbery, goondaism, haressment, hafta business, bribery, smuggling, unknown people strolling to look what is happening in that area so that they can rob the place, also keep a watch on people who dirty the places. Reward is a must. Every area cops should petrol to keep the place safe and sound.
