Dubai: Austin Barboza elected president of Lourdes Kanajar

Dubai, May 6: Austin Barboza has been unanimously elected the president of Lourdes Kanajar Association of Emirates (LKAE). He is the 9th president of Association since its inception 13 years ago. He was elected the president during its 9th general body meeting held recently. 

The meeting was organized in the form of an outdoor picnic at Dubai’s Mushrif Park, where over 50 parishioners attended the day-long family event. 


The important part of the annual general body meeting was the formation of the new managing committee. The election to the new managing committee was conducted by Thomas Sequeira.
 

Following members were elected unanimously for the next tenure:

Outgoing president Vijay Barboza thanked all the parishioners for their wholehearted support and also acknowledged the good work carried out by his committee in the last few years. 



LKAE Easter Celebration

Lourdes Kanajar Association Emirates (LKAE) celebrated Easter feast at Winny's party hall, Dubai recently under the leadership of president Austin Barboza.

The programme was compered by Nisha D'Souza and Seema Sequeira who briefed the gathering about the history and importance of Easter feast. 

A warm welcome was addressed to the gathering by president Austin Barboza. A bouquet was presented to the new members of LKAE by the committee members.

The cultural programme commenced with various games for elders, children and couples, organised by Juliet Barboza, Merwin D'Souza and group. 

Delicious food was served during the occasion by Winny's Restaurant. Housie housie game was conducted by Stan D'Souza and attractive prizes were distributed to the winners.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by founder member Stan D'Souza who spoke on LKAE's recent contributions towards the needy parishioners and the education fund. He also thanked every member for supporting and strengthening LKAE for the last 10 years and requested them to continue the generosity in future.

The gathering made all the LKAE members feel a family bond yet again. All committee members extended their maximum cooperation and support to the success of the event.

    Happy that finally Austin Barboza took this responsibility & it is well deserved & most appropriate choice. Congratulations to every member of the elected office bearers Wilfred, Edrin, Anil, Johnson & Merwin
