Mumbai, Jun 25: Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on Sunday asked the state government officials to study the feasibility of installing video camera to check traffic jams and vehicles flouting traffic rules.
The system would be helpful to control traffic and in tackling natural calamities and criminal activities as is being done in Tokyo, New York and Singapore, he said.
Presentation on ‘real time blanket video information system for the state of infrastructure, traffic and crisis management' was made before the chief minister.
