Bantwal: Accused in minor's rape case flees to Dubai, another following suit?

Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, May 5: It is learnt that out of two persons accused of raping a ninth standard student from Kolpe in Idkidu village near Vittal has fled to Dubai. Relatives of the girl claim that the other accused, who had posed threats of dire consequences to the victim in case she reveals what had happened, is also making hectic preparations to leave the country.

Jabbar

Bakuta Basheer from Bobbekeri in Vittal Casba village, who had been working earlier in Dubai, is learnt to have left the country. He is one of the accused in the rape of minor girl on April 18 this year.

Jabbar from Karyady in Kula village, who had reportedly threatened the girl of throwing acid at her face to permanently distort it, and kill her if she failed to keep her rape under wraps, is also making elaborate preparations to fly out of the country, relatives of the girl say.

In the meantime, it is being thought that the chances of Radhukatte Basheer, who is already facing some motor bike theft cases, escaping to a foreign country are remote, because of his criminal records and the fact he does not possess a passport as of now.

However, Vittal station house officer, Raghavendra T R, has denied the above information. He dismissed the information about the escape of the rape accused as mere rumour, insisting that the police have launched an operation to find out the culprits and arrest them. In the meantime, the girl’s relatives, who stand by the veracity of their information, have requested the police to seize the passport from Jabbar and stop him from leaving for Dubai.

Looks like a wise decision by above boys. Indian laws are very one sided and anti men , any relation can turn into offense by just a verbal statement of a girl. If they can defend the case while in dubai , once offences are quashed , they can have a safe return . Even in a extradition case involving a islamic country , in that case girl also liable to be punished , since its an offence to have any intimacy outside wedlock.

I guess our social workers services are limited to asking for more compensation for cattle traffickers & asking Kalladka Prabhakar Bhats arrest. Its like Poojary's press conference.

Unfortunately, nothing happens as we all recommended... we the public give so many suggestions, recommendations... above is also a classic example where people have given so many suggestions and action items. but unfortunately nothing is going to happen. or else why these many days to arrest those culprits. instead of telling they will catch these guys, why not police arrest them and have them under custody or seize their passport which if of course prove it's a false allegation. Do they dare to do that. No. ....so I started like nothing will happen... culprits will escape and police also be happy getting all required benefits.... pity on us..

Now rules and regulations are very strict in Gulf countries if the extradition treaty exists, it is easy to repatriate from the gulf or if not Interpol help can be obtained to get back the culprits or if not Indian Embassy can do the needful in getting back Criminals.

    Hello, Ismail Chetta,

But not to cases like rape or local burglary. If extradition treaties are used between the two countries for every trivial criminal case, then both host and guest countries would be on their toes to repatriate its nationals back to their homelands unless the nature of cases are of national security or huge financial embezzlement.

This case is already politicized and in both camps political parties are engaged in fierce battle. Some are how this case will go any far and even Interpol help could be sought.FOR CHETTA...Extradition treaty can be invoked for murder also and I hope now new Bill of RAPE is not less than murder.

    Hi social worker Perinje,

This case should have been taken up by social workers like you, so that the issue would not have politicised. Unfortunately it seems you are taking a neutral stand, thereby gave opportunity for politicising the same.

Please do not forget those harsh words in your dictionary to condemn the rapists repeatedly. Otherwise people think Perinje likes a political party more than the poor sister of your own community

Where ever they go, get them, approach the Dubai authorities and they should help the Indian government. Get them and give them such a treatment that they should be handicapped for life.
