Mangalore, May 4: "The core essence of Islam is peace. There is no religion greater than peace. However, Islam has been looked upon from a 'terrorist' perspective, which is unfortunate. No religion encourages disharmony," said Rafeeque Baig, president of Majlis Khudammul Ahmadiyya, India.

Addressing Peace Symposium-2014 organized by Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat at Town Hall here on Saturday May 3, Rafeeque said that for peace to prevail, every citizen should fear God in the right spirit. "A few Muslims have forgotten the preaching and teachings of Prophet Mohammed. We will strive to spread peace and brotherhood across religions with the motto to achieve communal harmony," he added.

"Peace can be achieved through tolerance. Such qualities should be inculcated right from our childhood. With the help of mass media, spreading of peace should be given more importance," Rafeeque further said.

MLA J R Lobo said, "There is only one god with many forms of worship. All religions preach peace. But this virtue has been destroyed with misinterpretations and selfish gains. Politics is one of the reasons. Therefore, people have to act wisely so that communal harmony is not destroyed," he said.

Swami Jitakamananda, Fr Clifford Fernandes, Mahabala Marla, mayor, Manohar Prasad and Reshma Ullal, journalists were among others present on the dais.

Earlier, a video presentation on the theme ‘Love for all, hatred for none’ was screened for the audience.

What a pleasant thing is to see that people of different religious faiths are sitting together! If we are looking for peace and live in laughter and harmony, people of all religions must get together and march together.

The weird totally self-centered politicians have used religion to create fight in between neighbors.

To make the matters worse, some scoundrels wearing religious outfits trigger fight and get a bunch of jobless street people to follow and sowing discord in the society. The society will have to chain those mad dogs to have peace in the society.

Peace conferences is needed for the time, unfortunately people are not attracted to it, but are more interested in chaos and fighting... This is the same when a prophet comes to the world.. he loves to bring peace to the world. But the world does not accept him.

Dear Organizer, good thinking, but the background of the stage design is one-sided why so. Unity and communal harmony should start from whatever we do like celebrate festivals together, start the youth clubs with people from all religion like how our Bollywood film industry works.if we make this possible sure no enemies can touch india till this earth exists.

Being the peace is a priority, the necessity is to productively occupy our rapidly growing volume of academics. In fact, the available time of our younger generation is being wastefully spent on the social media and roads.
Since the life is a small time assignment, understanding the goals and targets of life is essential and moving forward towards their achievement has to be the real concern.
In order to have a peaceful society, the families have to be independent with regular income. God has provided humans with all things needed to live together in peace and harmony, but we lose peace due to selfishness and greed, by comparing and competing with the life of this world, which vanish like momentary wind and grass. The peace is possible by sharing, tolerance and equality feelings.
