London, May 2 (IANS): Actress Katherine Heigl helped rescue two puppies from Sochi during the Winter Olympics and can't believe what a miraculous recovery they have made.
The 35-year-old helped bring two pooches called Sochi and Adler to the US after she realised how unwell they were but complications arose when the dogs were found to be suffering from life-threatening diseases during quarantine, reports contactmusic.com.
Heigl says they're doing well now and is surprised the dogs are still alive after the entire ordeal.
"It was really intense. I don't know if you watched the Olympics and saw what was going on over there with the animals, but it's equally as bad here,” she said on US chat show “The Talk”.
"We were asked by the NSPCA (Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to help with two puppies. We showed up at the airport and took these dogs. We thought the male dog was dead, he wasn't moving, we couldn't rouse him, and we drove immediately to the emergency vet,” she added.
