Dubai, May 1: Renowned Konkani drama artistes arrived at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday April 30 from Mangalore, to present two Konkani plays at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium (Indian High School), Dubai on Friday May 2 at 6 pm sharp. The event is being hosted by Mangalore Konkans Dubai.

The team of twelve, including two female artistes, most of them young and trained students for theatre, arrived fully charged, brimming with enthusiasm, excited as ever to step on the stage to deliver their performances on Friday.

Mangalore Konkans Dubai, just after reaching the remarkable milestone of its silver jubilee in October 2013, is here again to present two Konkani plays to entertain and convey a social and moral message, projecting the realities of the modern world. This event is also a part of the mission of Mangalore Konkani Dubai to promote Konkani language and culture in the UAE.

James Mendonca, the honourary president and Alwyn Pinto, the main coordinator, said that the response has been tremendous and callers from all over the UAE have been enquiring about the availability of the tickets at the gate. Due to the demand for tickets from the public from distant places of the UAE, tickets will be made available at the venue before the event. It is indeed nice to see the young talent taking interest in Konkani theatre. Wishing every success to this unique event.

A special mention about our super character / comedy actor, writer and activist Alwyn Evergreen Pinto. There cannot be a successful Konkani programme without his presence. He is like salt in every dish.

Here, we like your pose with the roses. Keep it up Mr. Alwyn.
