Mumbai, Jun 23: After a lull of 21 days, the monsoon, which had arrived early on May 31, finally showed signs of revival in the city with a good downpour on Thursday night.

Providing a much-needed respite to the people from the sultry weather, the rains not only brought the temperatures down, but' made the weather pleasant.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thundershowers during the next 24 hours in the city and its suburbs.

The weather bureau has also issued warning of heavy-to-very heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning in Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra regions in the next 24 hours.

During the 24 hours ended at 08:30 hrs today, Colaba recorded 30.3 mm rainfall, while Santacruz had 21.0 mm rainfall.

Local trains on both the Western and Central routes were running slow and were about five to 10 minutes behind schedule.
