Mangalore: Cattle theft anti-Islamic, will be opposed without exception: Muslim leader

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, May 1: State president of Karnataka Muslim Muttahida Mahaz (Karnataka Muslim Union), Masood Abdul Qadar, termed cattle theft as an anti-religious activity. Asserting that Muslims are strongly against this act, he said instructions will soon be issued to all the Jamaaths in the state to oppose this activity without exception.

He was speaking to media persons during his visit to Krishnapura near here to hand over a preliminary compensation of one lac rupees to the family of Kabeer, who was killed in firing by Anti Naxal Force personnel. Karnataka Muslim Muttahida Mahaz had organized this programme, and the cheque was presented to Kabeer’s father in the presence of MLA, B A Mohiuddin Bava.

‘All the religions in the world preach human values. We have to view everything with a humane touch. Our organization only picks up issues of importance, and we have taken the issue of Kabeer’s killing on priority as it happens to an issue of state-level importance,’ Qadar explained.

In his address, MLA, B A Mohiuddin Bava, noted that Islam is against the practice of consuming beef produced out of stolen cattle. He added that the policemen have been instructed to strictly act against cattle thieves. He added that a proposal to build a house for the family of Kabeer with donations from kind-hearted people is under consideration.

Secretary of the organization, Riaz Ahmed Khan, member, Tanveer Ahmed Shariff, youth Congress president, Suhail Kandak, and others were present.

Declaring cattle theft as anti-islamic is a good move though belated.

By this you have accepted that Kabeer is a cattle thief.

Whether honouring the cattle thief is pro-islamic?

Dear Jude, Dubai. I am fully agree with your comments.

The Head of district police must issue warning to Bajrangee dal and its mother organisation RSS their members not to involve in own policing. if they find suspicious on theft, cattle trafficking they must complain to police. If police warn Bajrangees will stop law taking into their hand. we do not see why police don't warn so!!!!!!!!

it is nothing to do with religion, its pure business, easy way to get rich, only reason by which Cattle theft is very active.
Start putting tax on export, put a limitation on export, it will be reduced. And there are many thing is prohibited in religious books, be it Hindu or Muslim or Christ how of us follow.

It is a very good move by the Muslim leaders.
All the cattle slaughter houses should have a log book with the details of the cattle procured with the details of the cattle supplier as well as the the origin of the cattle with contact details of the cattle sellers.
Those slaughter houses violate the rules should be banned and action should be taken as per the law of the land.
But the Bajrang Dali goons have no right to take the law into their hands. Such BD goons too should be strictly dealt with as per the law of the land.
We are not living in a Banana Republic of jungle-raj. If we don't stop this the world will laugh at our government administration and law & order system.

It should be allowed to choose one's food by him itself, if the people want to eat beef let them to eat, no problem, the Government should make proper arrangement for people to get their food in affordable rate and way. But Cattle theft is not acceptable and government should take strict action on them. If Muslim or anyone claims that they have right to steal , we cannot say that BD should not stop them. It is right of every citizen to stop the crime by his own way.

Theft is crime in any religion dont generalize it to beef....There is nothing wrong in transporting cattle legally to an abattoir...Few years back beef used to cost 30 to 50 rs now it has crossed 160 ....There are new people who added it to their menu...especially in city demand as risen .....beef is highly demand in luxury hotels where foreigners stay....those who think only particular community eats beef you are free to visit Mangalore abattoir

I feel this is the high time we muslims should look into this matter seriously. First, we need to see the demand for beef meat in the market. It's real sure that people from every community eat beef except a few. But it really feels sad to see people pointing out at one particular community for it. and there need to be a clear instruction for how to transport cattle legally rather than some cheap organistaions making a law about it and beating cattle transporters mercilessly, let government provide guidelines to transport cattle. and i really wish both Qazis of DK and Udupi give a fatwa banning muslims to eat beef in undivided DK at least for 3 months so that we can check the demand level and by that time Meat merchants can renovate their butcheries into an high standard giving priority to hygiene and cleanliness. and regarding Kabeer Incident, I feel Kabeer's family should not accept compensation from the government until the probe is over and we can raise more money than government through every Jamaat. and yes, cattle theft is also a serious issue which needs to be dealt with severe punishment. Peace!

Now days animals are used in sports and entertainment and very unfortunate ppl do not see that as cruel, but when it is used for human consumption, they make hue and cry about it.
cow/goat/sheep/buffalo has been the regular food of Indians from day 1 and it is unfortunate that some of them are banned here. If this continues, there will be times when these animals will outnumber human beings and eat all the crops leaving all the vegetarians without food!

If the cows are properly fed and shelter is given, the theft can be minimized, Moreover the owners of the cattle should be educated to complain to Police dept, if their cattle are found missing.......

Waleed bhai, the cattle have to be transported during day time with the valid certificate given by the veterinary doctors. No one should go against the law. It is necessary that all the communities need to keep the secular fabric intact by respecting each others sentiments. The outlaws should be severely punished without any mercy irrespective of their caste and religion.

Theft/ looting of any material is wrong /immoral , whether it is cattle or any other thing. But we should go and ask the cattle traders, from where they are getting the livestock. All will be surprised to know that, they are getting the cattle from Hindus, even the local media says that BD people are involved in the supply of livestock. It is better to go and strike at the root to stop the menace,

Why should anybody stop eating beef? Who are you to tell me that I should stop eating beef. Do I have any right to tell you what you should eat or not?. Any kind of theft be it cattle, Jewellery, property or money is wrong and a crime and should be dealt as such. At the same time goons from BD and other faltu organizations have no right to assault people transporting cattle. If they have any suspicion they should inform the Police and see that proper checks are carried out. The second point is if at all cow slaughter is banned, then the government should allow import of beef without import duties so that people who love eating beef are not deprived of their diet. This will solve everyone's problems.
