The Mangalore police department MUST implement very strict checks for driving under the influence like we have in Bangalore.
I have noticed that there is blatant ignorance of traffic rules in Mangalore, including not wearing seat belts, driving under the influence, etc.
Perhaps if strict checks and punishment is implemented, such incidents will drastically come down.

This clearly shows the greed of police personnel for money. Now police will be made to book case against some innocent person as driven by getting the s^^t from high profile accused. As far as corruption not ends these things will go on and police is there to protect them.

As report says "The identities of the persons in the car is not yet known". But it's very easy to known by the police as the culprits have left their mobile phone and valuable car.

Those three people were surely drunk. So they did not take the injured people to hospital as they will be caught for drunken driving and it could have been easy for ಥೆ police to prove it by their breathing test at that time.
After 10 pm the Mangalore streets are full of cars driven by fully drunk people and police are nowhere seen checking for drunken driving.
