Mangalore, Apr 23: Pranavananda Swami of Kerala, who addressed a press conference in Mangalore on Wednesday April 23, announcing Rs 1 lac for the ANF cadre who shot Kabeer in a case of mistaken identity, may have landed in trouble with Popular Front of India's Bajpe unit coming down heavily on him and demanding his immediate arrest.
In a press release to Daijiworld, the PFI condemned Swami Pranavananda Swami and expressed fears that communal tension may break out after his announcement of 'reward'.
"The Swami who is the president of Bharat Kranti Sena should be immediately sent to jail. Bharat Kranti Sena should be banned with immediate effect, and people who are associated with the Swami and were present during the press conference must also be arrested," PFI demanded in the press note.
"If religious people like Pranavanada give irresponsible statements like this, peace in society will be affected. The state Congress government must take immediate steps so that peace will prevail in Mangalore," the release states.

Mangalore, Apr 23: Pranavananda Swami, national president of Bharat Kranti Sena who had levelled allegations at SDPI, writer Ananthamurthy and even Malabar Gold a few days ago, on Wednesday April 23 demanded withdrawal of compensation to the family of cattle trader Kabeer who was recently shot dead by the ANF at Sringeri, and announced a reward of Rs one lac to the ANF trooper who committed the act.
Addressing a press meet here, he said, "The state government should withdraw the compensation announced for the family of Kabeer. Also, the government should arrest Kabeer's missing companions who were involved in cattle trafficking."
He further said, "Bharat Kranti Sena will give Rs 1 lac as reward to the ANF trooper. If the ANF trooper who shot Kabeer is found to be not guilty after investigation, the government should award the compensation amount of Rs 5 lac to his family instead of Kabeer's."
Criticising the state government, he said, "The government is supporting cattle thieves and terrorists. It is also insulting the efficiency of ANF personnel and lowering their morale. What has the government given to families of farmers who committed suicide? It took three months to hand over Mallikarjun Bande case to CBI."
He added, "The death in Sringeri was caused because of the curse of Go Matha. The state government is following anti-Hindu, anti-Indian policy. The government should hand over this encounter case to CBI and not to CID. Narendra Modi's government will be formed soon and hence there will be a transparent CBI probe."
"MLA Mohiuddin Bava and minister U T Khadar should be subjected CID probe. Bava, Khader and home minister K J George should resign," he demanded.
Commenting on the incident wherein cow dung was smeared on the face of Suresh Bhat Bakrabail, district president of Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike (KKSV) by miscreants, Pranavananda Swamiji said "He should have been smeared him human waste and not cow dung. Cow dung is sacred."
On this occasion Basavaraj Swamiji, state president of Ramarajya Nirmana Parishad, Rajesh Poojara Hindu Mahasabha district president, Rajesh Putran, Udayashankar Devadiga Bharat Kranti Sena were present.
