Doha, Apr 23: The leading, striking Indian Bollywood character actor Aditya Lakhia and the stunning, gorgeous, popular Indian television actress Aashka Goradia will be in Doha next month to crown the 14th May Queen along with Goa’s ex-chief minister and General Secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Luizinho Faleiro, who has consented to be the chief guest.
Music has a special place in the lives of Goans from the western state of India and to keep the musically inclined in high spirits, the Goan Welfare Association (GWA) once again geared up to host a fun and elegant traditional 14th Annual May Queen Ball on May 8 at the Radisson Blu Doha from 8.30 pm onwards.
The highlight of the event will be crowning of 14th May Queen by the Bollywood celebrities with fabulous prizes in gold, airline tickets, free accommodation in five star hotels, electronic items and many more, says Goan Welfare Association president Simon D’Silva.
Aditya Lakhia began his acting career in 1988 playing small roles and than worked as an assistant director in Akele Hum Akele Tum and Pehla Nasha. The salient character of Kachra in the movie 'Lagaan' remains one of his most memorable performances. Aashka Goradia has been awarded recently the best actress in a negative role award at the ITA awards 2013 for her role in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. She has also been seen in many fashion shows walking the ramp and acted in many hindi serials on television and first became popular after portraying the role of "Kumud" in Kkusum (2003-05). In 2012, she once again gained a huge popularity and fan follow, after participating in the Indian’s most admired reality show Bigg Boss 6. Archies, the most celebrated band from the western Indian state of Goa, will be another highlight of the show along with DJ Glorio and compere Updesh Swar.
