Karkala, Apr 23: The Konkani-Tulu-Kannada ‘Comedy Nite’ organised by the Band Silver Tones registered a grand success as it received an overwhelming response from a houseful crowd.
The event began at 6.30 pm with hilarious Konkani comedy presented by Bindas Pernal which sparked a wave of non-stop laughter. The acts in Tulu, presented by Prashamsa Kaup, drove the audience into an ocean of humour.
Ramesh Babu, a well-known comedian and mimicry artiste made a grand entry and did justice to the expectations of the audience. He thoroughly entertained them with his popular Kannada jokes, mimicry acts and dance.
Fr Charles Louis, chaplain, St Lawrence Shrine, Attur was the chief guest for the evening. Sr Mabel Goveas, Richard Pinto, vice president, parish council, Attur and Panchu Bantwal, Konkani writer were present during the event.
Arun Danthy, a well-known event organizer was the master of ceremony.
The programme witnessed the release of the Hindi solo album ‘Pyaar’ by Vijay Vaz. Popularly known as a Konkani pop singer, Vijay has sung for over 150 albums in Konkani and other languages.
The final moments of the event were dominated by some outstanding performances creating magical moments in the auditorium. As a token of love, Band Silver Tones presented a memento to all the artistes. The organizers expressed their gratitude towards their supporters, media partners and to the audience.
This event marked the first ever comedy programme in the Udupi district, where all the comedians of Konkani, Tulu and Kannada shared the stage. The event was successful with a houseful show and was an absolute comedy feast.
