Udupi : Hit-and-run accident claims life of 38-year-old man

Kaup, Apr 21: In a hit and run accident, a 38 year old man died after a Maruthi Swift Car hit him while he was standing at NH 66 in Udayavara in front of Halima Sabju convention hall.

The Deceased is identified as Magadum Ramappa(38), a resident of Bijapur and a laborer by profession.









It is said that Maruthi Swift Car plying from Udupi to Mangalore overturned after hitting Ramappa and fell into the nearby field. The driver immediately fled from the spot.

Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake and Kaup police rushed to spot. The traffic was in disarray for nearly 30 minutes after the accident.

    running from the spot is ok. did the driver or owner of the car surrendered at a nearby police station ? Escaping from the spot, yes, many times its required to save yourself from the local crowd. But you need to surrender at a nearby police station and face the consequences.

    The Car involved in this accident appears to be the Maruti New Swift which is the improved model of the original Swift car and most saught after by the youngsters for its uniqueness,speed,fuel efficiency, etc.,Youngsters should be very careful while driving this car keeping in mind the safety of self and public on road.It is the best suited car for highways and long run drive but be careful while driving abouve 70-80 kms speed.
