Mumbai, Apr 19: Giants International, an organization established in India and indulged in social service has spread its wings all over the world. It has more than 500 branches all over the world. Giants Group of Kalyana Metro is one of them.
The branch opened in Kalyana branch eighteen years ago, is nourished along with social service by Dr Shivananda Kakaramatha. Besides being a graduate in medicine from Karnataka Medical College, Hubli, and practicing medicine for the last twenty five years in Kalyan, he has identified himself in the field of social service.
Kakaramatha started the Karnataka Sangha Kalyan along with K G Shetty, another Kannadiga and social worker in the year 2002.
Members of Giants Group of Kalyan Metro celebrated their eighteenth anniversary and International Women’s Day on March 30 at Brahman Sabha Hall at Kalyan west.
Ashok Hukkeri, president of Central Advisory Committee of the organization and past member and office bearer of several local organizations and Surendra Shetty, Social worker, CEO of Jasmine Group of Companies and senior advisor of Karnataka Sangha Kalyan and Dr Kakaramatha were at the dais. They lighted the lamp and set the programme in motion.
Fine Kannadiga from Kalyan, social worker, member of Chairman Club of LIC and vice president of Karnataka Samagha Kalyan Gopal Hegde was conferred Kalyana Metro Bhooshana award for his excellent achievements. He was felicitated along with Sangeetha Naik who was felicitated for her service in the fields of education, literature and social with flower bouquets, shawl and a memento.
Dr Shivananda Kakaramatha, was also felicitated by Indian Medical Association Maharastra with president’s appreciation award for his meritorious service while he was the president of Kalyan Chapter between 2012-13. He was felicitated once again at the programme of Giants Groups of Kalyana Metro.
Former presidents and sponsors of Giant Groups of Kalyana Metro Shanker Acharekar, Prakash Banare, Basavaraj Patil Subraya Hegade, Akshatha Kalaramatha and Pushpa Sharma were also felicitated on the occasion.
First woman president of Giant Group of Kalyan Metro Akshatha Kakaramatha conducted the programme. Geetha Banare proposed vote of thanks.
