Channapatna, Apr 18: In a gruesome incident, a girl child who was a year and a half old was killed by her parents who fled from the spot immediately after burning the child on Friday April 18.
This inhuman incident was reported at the old school toilet near the Bangalore-Mysore road in Doddamallur village in Channapatna taluk.
The villagers rushed to the spot immediately after they noticed smoke in the school yard. They instantly informed the police who rushed to the spot, doused the fire and took half burnt remains of the child into custody.

From the past three days, the Haki Piki tribal couple was residing in the outskirts of the village in the school premises along with their eight year son and one and a half year old daughter. The locals informed that the couple often used to have disputes. On Friday afternoon after killing their daughter, they asked for pickaxe from a nearby house so that they could bury the child. When the nearby residents refused to give the pickaxe, they burnt the child using old tyres in a toilet and fled from the spot in an auto rickshaw. This heartrending incident came to light when the locals visited the spot after noticing smoke in school yard.
Rural police station police sub inspector Venkatesh along with his staff rushed to spot, examined the incident and registered a complaint. The villagers who came to the spot after knowing about the brutal incident suffered mental trauma.
No proper information
The parents who killed their own daughter were not localities. The couple was seen in that area just about three days ago; hence the locals have no clue about them. The police did not get proper information because the parents who committed this crime were migrants. They police is investigating the case and are trying their best to arrest the culprits for committing this gruesome crime.
