Dubai, Apr 16 : Ten years have passed since the demise of Umesh Nantoor, Dubai's well-known Tulu language activist, actor, director and socal activist. For friends and fans, his memory is still fresh, as he was fondly loved by all people irrespective of caste, creed and language.
To pay him a rich tribute, in rememberance of his contribution to Tulu and Kannada languages in the UAE, 'Sangama Kalavidaru', the very own brainchild of Umesh Nantoor, now being carried forward by its members, will present a unique show on Friday, October 3 at Sheikh Rashid auditorium.
Noel D'Almeida, who is leading the Sangama Kalavidaru in organising the programme told daijiworld that Umesh was very active among the Tulu, Kannada, and Konkani communities in the UAE, and was instrumental in starting Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Sangama Kalavidaru while also supporting many associations in the UAE. To remember his contribution and pay a tribute, a musical evening comprising dances and skits by UAE's talented artistes will be organised.
