Final day of campaign : AAP's Vasudeva confident of winning DK seat

Media Release

Mangalore, Apr 15 : Aam Aadmi Party Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha candidate M R Vasudeva campaigned at Old Port on Monday April 14. He mingled with the fisher folks and Dock Workers. The reception he received was tremendous.

“These people are the real aam aadmi. They work hard everyday to make a living and are the unsung heroes of our society. Introducing simple improvements in the way the fisher women sell their fish would benefit them as well as the buyers. Why is fish being sold like it was a hundred years ago? Can we not bring some effective improvements? I believe with the support of the fisher women, the authorities and citizens we can make improvements. I will show them the way and I am positive they will follow.” said Vasudeva

“The people were taken by surprise by Vasudeva's visit. Seldom does an MP or MP candidate of a National Party make a visit to these parts. If they do, they are accompanied by a coterie of people who insulate the aam aadmi from the MP or MP candidate. Vasudeva has no reservations mingling with the aam aadmi as he has done throughout his campaign. He does so now and will do so even when he is elected.” said Rajan Shastri an AAP-DK volunteer.

“Our intelligence findings and feedback received inform us that there has been a tremendous surge of support for the Aam Aadmi Party these past few days before election day. The minority communities are convinced that AAP will protect their interests vigorously as per Articles 25, 26 and 27 of the Constitution, as Yogendra Yadav emphasized in the Press Meet held the previous evening on April 13. Just you wait and see!” said Alex, AAP-DK's office manager.

“In the last election Nalin Kumar Kateel beat Janardhan Poojary by 40,420 votes. According to election experts it was the anti Poojary votes that defeated Congress in Dakshina Kannada. According to the election pundits, the feeling then was that had it been any other candidate Congress would have fared better. It is no different now, it is only worse for the Congress Party. Support for Congress has simply evaporated. The only reason Congress came to power in Karnataka is because of the dirty tricks played by one man who is now back in the BJP fold. This is now a two party race. AAP will come out ahead by over 1 lakh votes.” said Rohan Shiri, AAP-DK secretary.

Mr.Vasudeva should first learn to shake hands properly. Seen in the above pictures, the manner in which he has apparently shaken hands with the fishing folk as if they are untouchables. So disrespectful! Absolutely no compassion whatsoever. What "aam aadmi" party is this?

Vasudeva will screw the chances of Congress win. In fact Vasudeva is being used by BJP as they know that it will split the Congress votes. Everyone in town knows that Vasudeva was NoMo Fan till few days back. But he joined AAP only to split the votes from Congress. So any vote to APP increases the chance for BJP.

Wish AAP could win but it is not within the reach this time. Voters need to be more mature to visualize a corruption free India. I believe, out of 545, even if we could send at least 25 worthy and capable MPs to sit on the opposition side, then only we will be able to see some positive changes happening.

AAP instead of winning few seats it should not cut the vote bank of congress and make BJP to win. The biggest contribution of BJP is a big mouth, The Contribution of the Congress is like a heart, kindney and Liver to the body. Which cannot be see, but once it fails its importance is realized. Same thing in the 2004 General election, Vajpayee Wave failed to capture the power. Now What AAP has to do? it has long way to go, should not lose faith, hope and hard work. they should register in the minds of the people AAP is different from other parties. But Indian people will not accept immediately, It takes time to Digest AAP. Now AAP is branded they have no experience in running the Government but Good experience in making the Strike and Dharna after sometimes buka marna. So winning the minds of the people it requires lot of effort, may be down the level 10 to 15 years it may be possible. Even same in the case of BJP, They were formed may be in 1980 after the dissolution of JP, But to come to power it took 19years after shedding many lives and blood of the people. You have to create issues to come to Power, they had Ram Janma Bhoomi issue. Now the corruption is the issue of AAP but how it is affecting the common man? who is living the below the poverty line?

I am sure AAP is going to give a tough fight to both other two useless and corrupt party candidates. Contrary to what the general perception, this AAP is here to stay and do some difference to our lives. We are fully confident he is going to win and with a big margin. Because I hear all Auto-rickshaw people and their families, fishermen, construction workers, labourers and the general public who are fed up with the current corrupt system are for AAP. Most of their supporters are students who will again persuade their parents to vote of AAP. Significantly, their support is not based on religion, caste lines which is India’s fortune I must say.

Even if you think it is waste to vote for AAP, please vote for AAP. Because in the past 15 odd elections we have done nothing but wasting our votes only. Aur ek baar sahi.

    But let us support MRV.

AAP party is definitely a hope for future generation and is going to remain in politics for long. I am glad to see a lot of intellectuals supporting the ideology of AAP. I am sure many sincere intellectuals from NDA and UPA will join AAP once it becomes stronger than it is right now.

Currently, tt is very very difficult for AAP to fight the NDA or UPA who are well seasoned in playing politics, having the experience of many many years of (dirty) politics.

Even if NDA comes to power this time at centre, there will be UPA and AAP to squeeze its nose all the time, if they do wrong things, which is a good sign.

Sooner or later aam aadmi has to take control of the governance of this country so as to eradicate the deep rooted corruption, work for the poor and make India a strong, developed and a respectable country in the world. JAI HIND.

    Dear DR. Arun Sequeira/Abu Dhabi/Mangalore,

Nice Comment, I totally agree with U. Let me add a few more.
1.People r still living on the road side without Shelter.
    2. Poverty is increasing day by day.
    3.Slums & Huts r added daily.
    4. Millions of people go hungry daily without a proper meal.
    5. No toilets for our Children in Government Schools.
6.Our Police Stations r very dirty.
    7. Most of the Government offices r not maintained well.
8.Beggars r on all the roads & streets.
    9. Our Roads, Bridges, Highways, Ghat Roads, Streets, Foot Paths built by Britishers r gone to dogs.
Our own people r cleaning & well maintaining fish, meat & vegetable markets in the Gulf.
Our Politicians do not have time to go through all these issues. These hypocrites, travel by Helicopters & Helipads, nicely dressed up to give press conferences to fool the people.

So friends, let us together make a change. Vote for AAP only. Some Commentators r saying that AAP is splitting others votes. They have forgotten that everyone has a right to stand for election. If other parties r feeling that AAP is splitting their votes, they should have withdrawn their candidatures. Some say AAP is new, they don't know how to manage, as if these commentators knew everything before they have born. Good Luck AAP. Keep up the struggle until U succeed.

Only AAP could understand the common man's problem as identified by Mr Vasudeva- the problem of fisher women, the way fish is sold.
No hygienic fish markets,no maintenance for govt.hospitals, schools, markets and bus stands.
Look at the housing of police men and defense personnel.
Look at the road accidents and deaths.
look at the Kannada medium schools. No payment for teachers just because of less number of students.
look at the minimum wages for laborers, domestic workers and unorganized sector.
Look at the real estate sector. No housing policy for low cost houses for poor in towns.
So many youngsters out from the college, come to the cities in search of jobs, not to find any temporary shelter, become mental and sick.
We need inclusive growth and development which is not only for the rich and influential but also for the underprivileged. We should take along with us as a nation all the people,to give opportunities for all to live and work and earn in the midst of rich, with dignity and without isolation.
That is why we seek change and vote for AAP.

He thinks it's as easy as 'fish dressing' and making it's curry!!
    Vaasuji not that easy....
    1.First fish must be caught.
    2.Fishermen paid.
    3.Cutting knife purchased.
    4.Fish head removed.
    5. Some thorns also along with eyes.Fisher women's help required here.
    5. Fish washed.
    6.Rossu or Masala prepared.
    7. For 6...Coconut, chillie, required.
    8. Salt, oil and all that poured in correct proportions.
After all this in 1st attempt , you cannot say Curry will be a hit !
    Experience Hona Mangtaa Hai!!
You have to repeat all this many times.
Then your 'curry' will be the Winner...Got it?? Yes....
Now when will you win -tell me?
    Good ...Good...Vasuji understands..
