Udupi, Apr 10: Addressing the participants of the coastal BJP convention organized near Malpe bus stand near here on Wednesday April 9, BJP leader, Tejaswini Ramesh, noted that just like the saying that goats never leave any greens untouched, Modi has never left any heart untouched. ‘Modi is not just a name, it is a mantra that represents self respect of crores of Indians,’ she felt.
The convention was held under the aegis of the district BJP Yuva Morcha and fishermen’s wing.
‘For us, our country stands above even religion and party. Chikmagalur had given rebirth to Indira Gandhi in the past. Lord Srikrishna who rushed in to save Draupadi from imminent disgrace, has chosen Udupi as his residence. These factors will contribute to a resounding victory for BJP candidate from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency, Shobha Karandlaje, who will rise to be the voice of women from Karnataka,’ she asserted.
Before the convention, hundreds of women rode through the streets of the town to the venue of the meeting.
She said there is no leadership or patriotism in Congress, and that Hindutva not backed by religious bigotry will eventually come out victorious. ‘The Congress government at the centre did not even have the guts to bring back the severed heads of our soldiers, after they were slain by Pakistani soldiers when protecting our borders. How can we accept this as our government? I deserted Congress not when it was going through a lean patch, but when its leaders are intoxicated by power. Congress has borrowed the divide and rule policy of the British, which had succeeded in splitting India into several countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bhutan, Burma, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka,’ she said.
Former minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary, said that victory of Shobha Karandlaje will be the victory for the country and victory of self respect of Indians. Shobha Karandlaje also addressed the gathering.
BJP leaders, Uday Kumar Shetty, Raghupati Bhat, Lalaji Mendon, Yashpal Suvarna, Sheela K Shetty, and many others were present.
