KCWA 25: Bishop Dr Gerald, Colaco, J R Lobo to be guests of honour

Media Release

Kuwait, Apr 10: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), an organization of Catholics in Kuwait hailing from different parishes of Mangalore and Udupi diocese, has completed 25 glorious years of its existence.

A seed that was sown by its founder members Francis Misquith, Elias Saldanha, the late Charles Vaz and the late Johnny Misquith in July 1988 with a mission and a vision to help in the upbringing of unprivileged children and families has today grown into a gigantic tree. As of today, approximately INR 2.8 crore has been donated towards the education and humanitarian needs in India and Kuwait, a major share of which is directed towards the cause of education for children in the rural areas in Karnataka.

The celebration of KCWA's 25th year, with various activities and events which commenced in July 2013, will culminate with the mega celebration on April 25. Preparations are under way for the mega event and entertainment unlimited is in store for its audience.

The event will be organized at the American International School, Hawally and will start sharp at 3 pm. The first half of the programme will be a musical extravaganza titled “Retro to Metro”, performed by renowned artistes and musicians coming all the way from India. The internationally renowned Konkani drama “Aami Nathylaa Vellar” by Daiji Rang Mandir, Dubai will be staged in the latter half of the programme.

Dr Gerald Issac Lobo, bishop of Udupi diocese, Ronald Colaco, philanthropist, entrepreneur and president of the International Federation of Karnataka Christian Association (IFKCA), and J R Lobo, MLA of Mangalore South constituency, will grace this grand occasion as guests of honour.

The main sponsors for the event are Caesars Group of Restaurants and ISSNAD Urban Development. Daijiworld is the official media partner for the Rupyotsav. KCWA is looking forward to a housefull attendance at AIS on April 25, and urges its members and fellow Mangalorean Catholics in Kuwait to support its motive and cause.

Entry tickets for the programme are now on sale. More information regarding the event is available on KCWA website www.kcwakuwait.org.
