Doha : Countdown begins for Tulu Koota 7th annual day

Doha, Apr 8 : Tulu Koota Qatar is all set to celebrate its 7th Annual Day celebration on April 25 (4.30 pm) at Delhi Public School Auditorium in Al Wakrah.

Dr B A Viveka Rai will grace the occasion as the chief guest. “Musical Extravaganza” by the International fame flutist Pandit Praveen Godkhindi along with  famous Sandalwood playback singer and Filmfare Award winner Hemanth Kumar and Shamitha Malnad (Sandalwood singers) will add glitter to this years annual day celebration. The celebrity musicians will be entertaining the audience in Hindi,Kannada as well as  our own sweet language Tulu.

Chief guest Dr B A Viveka Rai, Karnataka Rajyotsava Award winner was a Professor of Kannada Language,Literature and Folklorists in Mangalore University  (1970-2004). Vice-Chancellor of Kannada University ,Hampi (2004-07) and Karnataka State open University (2007-09), Guest-Professor, Dept of Indology, University of Wurzburg, Germany. Professor Rai has contributed immensely in the field of literature. He is the author of many books and literature. Was also a Mentor of many successful research scholars.

Eminent personalities from Tulunadu such as Dr.Shantharam Shetty, Prof Tukaram Poojary, Prof. Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli, Head of news Burea of Udayavani Manohar Prasad, Former Supreme Court Judge and Lokayukta Chief Justice Santhosh Hegde, Chairman of Alva's Education trust Dr Mohan Alva, former chairperson of Karnataka film chamber of commerce and popular sandalwood actress Jaimala, former Tulu Sahithya Academy presidents Seetharam Kulal and Dr Vamana Nandavara have graced earlier annual day celebrations as chief guests.

Tulu Koota Qatar ,a socio-cultural organisation of the expatriate community hailing from Coastal Karnataka affiliated to ICC under the aegis of Embassy of India with members belonging to all the communities irrespective of cast and religion is one of the most active Karnataka based associations in Qatar. It is a non-profit and service oriented organisation mainly focuses  on noble activities such as social service and charity on humanitarian causes for the genuine needy ,lend helping hand to people in distress. In addition to organizing cultural and sports events ,the forum also focuses on attending  appeals from the needy segment of the society from people belonging to Tulunad.
