Mangalore, Apr 7: The officials of the directorate of revenue intelligence (DRI) on Sunday April 6 night seized over three kilograms of gold from two passengers at Mangalore International Airport.
The passengers, identified as Abdul Nisar (33) of Kumble, Kasargod, and his cousin Fousiya arrived at the airport at 7 pm. They were later arrested.
The gold was found in the form of wires and biscuits, concealed in popcorn maker, a digital receiver, steam cleaner and a car stereo.
Altogether, 3,206 grams of gold valued at Rs 93,63,389 was seized.
Fousiya was accompanied by her five-year-old child.
