Most tragic and unfortunate accident to happen at this time when they went to distribute wedding invitation card of Winston Karkada's daughter. May the souls of Donald and Doris Kunder rest in eternal peace. My deepest and heartfelt sympathies to the entire bereaved families and friends. Due to the widening of roads on highways, there are many diversions which leads to such accidents.

It is very hard to believe that Donald Kunder and Doris Kunder are no more.I know Donald Kundar personally and few months back I met him near corporation bank, adjacent to Tejaswini hospital,Kadri. It is true that he was in Dubai working for,Al Habtoor group of companies,Datsun/Nissan division, near Deira clock tower. He was a close friend of my father-in-law.Death is inevitable and certain, which can not be avoided but way should be smooth. This is cruel and unfortunate.May their departed soul rest in eternal peace.Heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and paying for the speedy recovery of those who have injured.Lt God grant enough strength and courage to the family of deceased to overcome this irreparable loss.

Nothing works right in our country. There are so many deviations on the mangalore Udupi highway due to the road widening work. The sign board must actually be put up at least 100 meters before the deviation and must be in large letter and be shown bright. But in this case the signs are put up right where the deviation starts. Accidents on this highway happen due to a number of reasons here. People also dont judge their driving skills, dont wear seat belts, dont check or interchange tyres regularly and drive at speeds that dont suit this road.
All said and done its a shame that given the fact that so many lives are lost on this highway on a regular basis, the authorities choose to turn the other side.
I am not sure how much value does a human life hold in our country, perhaps none, however there is a family that sits shuttered.
My condolences and prayers with the family. Noel, Santosh, Stella Aunty , my prayers will go out for Dayaker anna & Shantha akka.

The incomplete road widening will lead to such confusion with the drivers. It is even difficult to make out where is the road curve, where is the road diversion. It compounds during night if you are not familiar in this route.
Many have failed to realize that Indian vehicles are designed up to 60km/hr safe speed.
This is a sad incident. RIP...
