Mumbai, Jun 10: Eight children were on Friday hospitalized after complaining of vomiting and weakness, a medical official said.
The children from suburban Bhandup were brought by a local human rights NGO to Rajawadi Hospital in northwest Mumbai.
"We recommended that 11 children be admitted, but the NGO has admitted eight children since 12 noon," hospital medical superintendent V V Shukla said.
Although the NGO brought the children as they suspected they were suffering from malnutrition, doctors at the hospital need to assess the situation, he said, adding that the status of malnourishment could be ascertained only after a complete check-up.
