Sharjah, March 29 (IANS/WAM): Dignitaries, media personalities and artists from all over the world arrived in Sharjah in the UAE this week for the premiere of the region's biggest ever theatrical spectacular, 'Clusters of Light', which tells the story of Prophet Mohammad from his birth to his death and clarifies the true essence of Islam.
The Higher Organising Committee and the Executive Committee for Sharjah's Islamic Culture Capital 2014 celebrations have completed all arrangements for the reception of the emirate's guests, who will be accommodated in Sharjah's leading hotels.
More than 500 journalists, broadcasters and media executives from around the world, along with local media representatives, will report on the ground-breaking oratorio which will have its premiere show Sunday at the new Open Al Majaz amphitheatre.
The four subsequent performances will be held march 31, April 1, 3, and 4.
The Roman-style amphitheatre covers an area of 7,238 sq.m and can accommodate up to 4,500 spectators. It features a vast viewing platform through which artists can ascend, and is equipped with a high-quality and an advanced audio system.
A stellar crew of 750 people, including famous Arab and international artists as well as scholars on the life of Prophet Mohammad and experts in the field of large-scale theatrical production, are participating in this theatrical and musical production.
Composed by highly talented Bahraini musician Khalid Al Sheikh, the performance includes an elite group of renowned Arab artists led by UAE artist Hussain Al Jasmi, Tunisian artist Lotfi Bouchnak, Egyptian artist Ali Al Hajjar and young Palestinian artist Mohammad Assaf, among more than 200 performers.
Through the use of the latest technology and state-of-the-art sound and lighting, the audience will be taken on a journey to the Holy lands where Islam emerged and then spread to the entire world.
They will see a spectacular show that revives the victories and triumphs of the dawn of Islam, and will be introduced to the true image of Islam and its pure essence.
