Bangalore, Mar 29: A realtor living in Talaghattapura in the city killed his wife and two children by injecting them with poisonous substance, before hanging himself. It has transpired that he has left a will through which his property has been bequeathed to the daughter of his elder brother.

Kaushik Puneeth Sharma (40), living at Vakeel Garden near Talaghattapura, his wife, Shreeltha (36), son, Kaustubh (9), and daughter, Sreeraksha (11) were found dead inside their home. After injecting poison to his family members, Kaushik had hanged himself from the grills of the stairs in his home, the policemen said.

Kaushik, who hailed from Udupi, had settled down in USA for several years, before shifting residence to the city three years back. Kaustubh and Sreeraksha were third and fourth standard students of a nearby school. Kaushik, who was doing real estate business, is said to have acquired 200 acres of land near Kollegal recently, apart from three house sites near his house. On Thursday night, he called his niece, Sumegha, asking her to visit his home at 10.30 am on Friday to receive a gift box. He told her that he and his family were going away, before abruptly ending the call.

Sumegha reached her uncle’s home at 10 am on Friday. The security guard called the family over intercom to get permission to allow her inside, but the calls went unanswered. Then both Sumegha and the security guard went near the home and peeped through the window, to find that the children were lying on the floor.

The information was then passed on to Talaghattapura police station. The police broke open the doors of the house and found the bodies of Kaushik’s wife and children in the bedroom. An injection syringe was found by their side. The police also found the body of Kaushik hanging from a noose.

In a death note that he left behind, Kaushik said no one was responsible for these deaths. However, he has alleged that a police officer named Reddy from city crime station in Hyderabad had usurped his money, gold ornaments, and house sites. He also has written on walls of his home with blood, the words AP Police Reddy, CCS Hyderabad, Our Money, Gold, and Site. His will leaving behind his belongings to niece was also recovered from the spot, the police personnel said.

It is said that some miscreants had attacked Kaushik about a week back. They had abducted him, and allowed him to go after beating him up and posing death threats. It is also gathered that these goons followed Kaushik’s car closely in another vehicle, whenever he ventured out. This development reportedly had give rise to a sense of dejection and depression in Kaushik.

How can a Brahmin man from updui have a niece who is a REDDY?? Something is certainly fishy. Police should look into this matter and also the beneficiary. Likely that the entire family was driven to commit suicide for acquiring property.

Shudder to think that these 'goons' will rule us one day. India should definitely be under President's rule for 10 years and all systems cleansed out...It will be very difficult otherwise for future generations...
What a depressing story to hear?

Very Baffling and Intimidating. Once again proves police , mafia and goon nexus. I feel very sad for the presence of mind and common sense. Agree , he was in pressure , but there were options out. If nothing works , pack ur bags and leave the place or country as money was not a issue. The world is pretty big to live , REST IN PEACE for all souls.

Making so much money, plots, houses finally no peace in life.Sometime we are so selfish and we think beyond our livings and accumulate wealth unproportionally and it becomes a curse to life one way or other.A tragic end of a family.

A man who achieved so much, travelled so much, but could not live in his own country in peace. The event is just one example of the degeneration of our society where violence and goons rule .Days may come when man starts eating man ....God save India.

Dear Benny, India not at all bad as you think. Only a few lots are rotten here and few lots do not know “Art of Living” too. I can give you one fine example. One of our European Staff from our Company visited India for some official work, when returned he was saying that you people are lacking behind and underdeveloped at least 20 to 30 years behind compare to Europe or America. I said him politely, no problem, our people will live 100 to 200 years more than Europe or America. And now you see the scenario, almost all European Countries are facing acute shortage of funds for further development and their economy will collapse with no time

I pity your knowledge Sachchi Shetty. If living in Dubai, you make such comments, I really pity you. India has been reduced to a gunda country - filled with cultural stupidity, corruption to the core, rape, communal violence & hatred. For India to change, you need the billion people to change their heart and start contributing rather than looting their own country. Unfortunately, the truth spelled out by your companies Ghora must be too much for you to swallow. Learn to believe in truth

Dear Shetty, when i told some Malaysians in Malaysia that india will become a superpower, one day, they actually laughed at my face, because many of them have been to india, and seen the overall development and concluded india won't be a superpower for another 50-75 years. For india to be a superpower, people's mentality has to change. They should think collectively about developing the nation, and not the rich getting richer, and the poor being miserable and desperate. Do you know that in Malaysia, the poorest people are not the Malays or the Chinese, they are the indian origin (Tamil) people. Many of them don't even want to send their children to college, and end up working as drivers, security guards, mechanics and other semi-skilled labors. Even most of their jails are filled with Indians with murderers, rapists, drunkards..
