Drones to steal bank data!

London, March 25 (IANS): This may come as a shocking news for many. Hackers have managed to 'steal' information, including bank details and password, using an aircraft.

Take heart as this was only an experiment and not a real thing yet!

The test, conducted in London, showed it is possible to use drones to tap into a smartphone’s Wi-Fi settings and access valuable information.

Named Snoopy, the drone takes advantage of smart phones that actively search for networks.

It then makes use of built-in technology which can see what networks the phones have accessed in the past.

Snoopy then intercepts everything a smart phone sends and receives and allows hackers to see passwords, bank details and the phone's location.

In theory, almost any drone could be adapted to do this.

In the wrong hands, this could potentially leave people go bankrupt in a jiffy.

“The technology highlights how vulnerable smart phone users can be,” said a Daily Mail report.
