Mumbai, Jun 8: A trade and cultural delegation from Karnataka, led by chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and consisting of minister Dr V S Acharya, legislators and officials, arrived in the city around 3 pm on Wednesday, on their way to the UAE and Oman on a three-day visit. They later left for Dubai.

In the city, they were welcomed by a large number of outstation Kannadigas. In the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman, the delegation will hold talks on promotion of export of state's products and also on investment on Information Technology in the state.

It is the very first foreign visit for chief minister Kumaraswamy after he took over the reins earlier this year. He, as an erstwhile member of Lok Sabha, was part of a delegation led by the then (now deceased) president Shankar Dayal Sharma to Oman just over a decade ago.

Various organizations like Bunts led by president Dr Sudhakar S Hegde VP Dr P V Shetty, honorary general secretary V K Shetty, Jaya Shri Krishna Parisara Premi Samiti members led by Vishwanath Mada, Billaw Association led by general secretary Nityananda D Kotian, Vokkaligara Sangha led by community leader Narayana R Gowda and others welcomed the CM and his delegation at the Santa Cruz domestic airport and Hotel Leela.
