Raipur, June 6: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's statement following the alleged drug abuse by Rahul Mahajan that 'such mistakes happen in young age' has sent a wrong messge to the generation next, expelled BJP leader and Bharatiya Janshakti president Uma Bharti said today.

"If it is just a slip of the tongue, I have nothing to say. If it has come from the heart, it's not a good message for our generation next,'' she told newspersons here.

"Atalji should not have made such a statement. BJP workers feel ashamed over it,'' she added.

Stating that she was more concerned over the links of ''drug addicts'', the former union minister said the BJP workers must inquire to find out whether drug addicts had any connection with the recent intra-party developments within the BJP in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.
