Mumbai, March 19 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 32.55 points or 0.15 percent up during the pre-noon session Wednesday.
Good buying was observed in metal and banking sectors, while selling pressure was seen in IT and technology, media and entertainment (TECK) sectors.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,872.68 points, was trading at 21,865.16 points in the pre-noon session, up 32.55 points or 0.15 percent from the previous day's close at 21,832.61 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 21,895.83 points and a low of 21,795.94 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE metal index gained 208 points and bankex went up by 100.26 points, while IT index dropped by 202.64 points and TECK index slipped by 81.28 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 12.15 points or 0.19 percent up at 6,528.80 points.
