Don't see any difference in lead or character roles: Simhaa

Chennai, March 10 (IANS): Actor Simhaa, who is playing the lead in upcoming Tamil film "Urumeen" after essaying character roles in films such as "Neram" and "Soodhu Kavvum", says he doesn't see any difference in playing a lead or a character in a film. The story is all that he cares about.

"For me, all roles are the same. A lead role means you're going to lead a story from the front and a character role probably not from the front. That's the only difference I see in these kinds of roles. I give prime importance to the story of a film," Simhaa told IANS.

Simhaa rose to prominence after playing a comic villain in last year's Tamil comedy "Neram". He will be seen in a full length negative character in upcoming Tamil gangster drama "Jigarthanda".

"All roles are meant to entertain audiences. So how does it matter if you're playing a lead or a character role? I treat all roles equally and as an actor I'm only bothered about the kind of films I do more than anything else," he said.
