Mumbai, Jun 2: Nineteen people were killed in rain related incidents in Maharashtra over the past couple of days, state authorities said, even as the MET department predicted that the spell of rain in Mumbai and parts of Konkan would continue for the next 24 hours.
 

Government spokesperson Bhushan Gagrani told reporters that four people were killed in Ratnagiri, three in Mumbai, two in Sindhudurg, one in Dhule, eight in Aurangabad revenue division and one in Nagpur.

Thirteen districts in the state have experienced above average rainfall since yesterday, Gagrani said adding state chief secretary D K Sankaran was monitoring the situation and coordinating with respective district collectors.

Meanwhile, the state capital continued to receive intermittent rainfall, but rail and road traffic recovered to near normal as compared to Wednesday.
