Mumbai, March 7 (IANS): Designer Manish Malhotra will showcase his version of summer affair through flowing fabrics, bold prints and more at the opening of forthcoming Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) summer-resort 2014.
The premier five-day fashion event will begin March 12, but Malhotra’s collection titled A Summer Affair will be showcased on March 11 night at the Grand Hyatt here.
“A Summer Affair is influenced by the romanticism that exists in today's day and age... where layers and boundaries are surpassed... the young in love are distracted and are expressing their individuality,” Malhotra said in a statement.
Sheer and lightweight fabrics such as organza, georgette and tulle make the ensembles in hues of pink, powder blue and beige summer-friendly.
The men’s collection has outfits with print on print and different textures in contemporary Indian jackets. Kurtas also get a makeover as shirt kurtas.
Also consisting of summer skirt lehengas with pockets, bolero jackets with kurtas and easy slim pants, the range will also be available at his new stores here and in New Delhi.
