Mumbai, March 5 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 6.30 points or 0.03 percent down in the pre-noon trade Wednesday.
Good buying was observed in healthcare, capital goods and IT sectors, while selling pressure was seen in consumer durables sector.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,280.36 points, was trading at 21,203.43 points in the pre-noon session, down 6.30 points or 0.03 percent from the previous day's close at 21,209.73 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 21,333.20 points and a low of 21,176.16 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE healthcare index gained 47.88 points, capital goods index inched up by 46.74 points and IT index moved up by 34.22 points. However, consumer durables index plummeted by 120.26 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also trading flat at 2.50 points or 0.04 percent down at 6,295.45 points.
