Mangalore, Feb 22:
A ‘Paani Poori’ eating competition will be held on Sunday February 23 at 3 pm, at Bharath Big Cinemas in the city. The event is being organized by ‘The 3 Hungry Men’ - Mangalore’s first and only food reviewing body - in association with SRS 7 Dayz Chaat.



Nikhil Pai, co-founder of The 3 Hungry Men, said, “This time we are keeping an entry fee of Rs 99 as we want only serious eaters and the age limit is above 18 only. This is the first paani poori eating competition in Mangalore and we are going to make it large. Also, entry tickets will have to purchased in advance from SRS Punjabi Haandi, 4th Floor, Bharath Mall. There will be no spot entries allowed and the ticket sales will stop at 1 pm on Sunday. There are limited entries, so come grab your tickets fast.”

Colin D’Souza, co-founder, The 3 Hungry Men, said, “The competition is serious and the prizes are even more serious as the winner will get free paani poori for a year at SRS 7 Dayz and also one month of free movies from Bharath Big Cinemas at Bharat Mall.”

D’Souza said that the event will be telecast on Namma TV so that a majority of Mangaloreans can witness it.

The 3 Hungry Men, founded by Nikhil Pai and Colin D’Souza is well-known for its reviews on restaurants. They have daily updates on food and recommendations on their Facebook page with more than 6,000 odd-members following them daily.

In the past they have organized similar events like chicken, ice cream, biryani, and pizza eating competitions.

    Good Thought, but let me tell you readers, Punjabi Dhabha is teh most lousiest Paani Poori you will ever eat, they make half baked gramed which actually doesn't go with Paani poori. 3 wise men, please give a chance to the Local tehla guy & see the difference.

    Wise idea of Rs99 per entry. A person who is not capable of not eating worth Rs200 panipuri at a time will not think of going to the competition.
