Bangalore: Actor-turned-politician Ambareesh in hospital

Bangalore, Feb 22: State housing minister and Sandalwood actor, 'Rebel Star' Ambareesh, got admitted to Vikram Hospital in the city on Friday February 21 night. He was suffering from fever that had not subsided since the last three days, and breathlessness.

Ambareesh was admitted into the intensive care unit of the hospital, doctors of the hospital said. They added that there has been improvement in the health condition of the minister.

It is learnt that three experienced doctors of the hospital are monitoring his condition. Senior doctor of the hospital, Ranganath Nayak, said there is nothing to worry, and the minister would return to normal health in a couple of days.

The doctors said that Ambareesh will be kept on ventilator for two more days before deciding on further course of action.

Chief minister, Siddaramaiah, as well as MP and actress, Ramya, minister, U T Khadar, and several bigwigs from Kannada cine world met him at the hospital on Saturday February 22 morning and enquired about his condition.

It is gathered that Ambareesh had undergone health checkup last week at Chennai after developing breathing trouble. After taking part in the cabinet meeting on Friday, his condition worsened unexpectedly, necessitating his admission into the hospital, it is learnt.
