Mangalore, Feb 15:
A trip to the Kadri Park will bring an additional joy to visitors for the next three days. The annual flower show, inaugurated on Saturday February 15, has lots in store for the public with nearly 35 stalls exhibiting unique plants and flowers in all shapes and colours.

The entrance greets the visitor with an elephant decorated with greenery. Besides, another highlight of the show is the model of 'Kambala'. The two dummy buffalos are decorated with over 10,000 Dutch roses.

Among the 35 stalls, 10 are by government while others are of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and self-help groups (SHGs). If some stalls have a collection of orchids, some display vegetable plants. Agricultural produce, milk products, seeds, flowers, agriculture related magazines, organic and natural food products are some of the exhibits in the stalls.

J R Lobo appreciated the theme of the exhibition which he said portrays local tradition. Wilma Vas of Neermarga, one of the visitors said that she liked the exhibition. Dr Indira J, physics professor at University College showcased her skills with coconut shells. The stalls have different types of crafts. She said it was her hobby and all that she used to make crafts out of the coconut shells was axo blade and some of her time. "It is only for exhibition and not for sale. I am here to inspire school children," she added.

In addition, right next to the exhibition, a terrace and kitchen garden programme was held where hundreds took part in the event.

Earlier, the district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai inaugurated the exhibition by cutting the ribbon. MLA J R Lobo, H R Yogesh of department of horticulture and others were present.

In fact should give some space to all the horticulturists - schools- Interested agriculturists - Landscaping case, it's in that park to display their products and look after for promotion.
It will be good display while enhancing the beauty and upkeep of the park while the citizens enjoy the nature.
Let it be designed well by the Landscaping architects and planned by the Horticulturists .
Even Agricultural college should get involved in parks.
to make space for varieties and species of Tress -herbs -shrubs - annual-perennials etc.
