Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Feb 14: In a strange incident reported from Gundmi Tagginabil near Sasthan in the district, a student barged into a house when a woman was alone, and tried to attack and rob her. The incident occurred at around 11 am on Thursday February 13.

The woman was alone at home after her husband left for work. She was attending to cooking, when a boy jumped over the compound wall, and threw a white cloth over her face from behind. He then tightened a nylon rope around her neck, and knocked her down. When he tried to bang her head against the ground, the woman fought back and escaped from his clutches.  As soon as the she raised an alarm, the boy ran outside and jumped over the compound wall, and escaped, the woman said in her complaint filed at Kota police station.

Kota station house officer, K R Naik, and other personnel rushed to the spot immediately and succeeded in taking the boy into custody.

Initially, they had thought that it was a handiwork of professional robbers. The police said that to their surprise, they found that the accused is a SSLC student living in the neighbourhood. At the same time they expressed disappointment at the non-cooperative attitude of some neighbours who preferred to conceal information from the police in spite of knowing who was behind the act.

When I read this article I remember the incident to my mother in Belman. The Bottle collector came to our house and asked for old bottles which my mother gave him. Then he asked for some food. My mother felt pity on him and served him with rice and some curry, He took curry and threw on her eyes and tried to kill her and loot her gold. By the help of our belman villagers she was saved her life. I thank all of them, including Mr Dian Dsouza of Daiji World.

Dear Readers, why do some of you disagree to the excellent comments written by Madam Juliet? It looks like that you were born only to negativity, communal disturbance. Will you advise your children to rob/kill someone??? What a shame....

It is the age where the boys are tempted towards such criminal activities. These boys are trained by some dons. The parents should keep a close watch on the activities of their children especially boys who are in the teenage .If they fall a prey to some vises during this age, then it is difficult to mould them.

Brave woman. Keep it up! Never keep the door open when alone at home. She would have been killed! Good she escaped. The police should take stern action, he may rob many more homes in the future. Be aware!
