Kuwait: KCWA to celebrate silver jubilee with mega event on Apr 25

Kuwait, Feb 12: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) is completing 25 glorious years of its existence this year. KCWA is an organization of Catholics hailing from different parishes of Mangalore and Udupi diocese, presently residing in the State of Kuwait.
A seed that was sown by KCWA founder members Francis Misquith, Elias Saldanha, the late Charles Vaz and the late Johnny Misquith in July 1988 with a mission and a vision to help in the upbringing of unprivileged children and families, has today grown into a gigantic tree. Over the years, the KCWA has generated donations of approximately Rs 2.8 crore towards education and humanitarian needs in India and Kuwait, a major share of which is directed towards the cause of education for children in the rural areas in Karnataka.
A year-long celebration of various activities and events, which commenced in July 2013 to mark KCWA's 25th anniversary, will culminate with a mega event on April 25, 2014. Preparations are underway for the mega celebration and entertainment unlimited is in store for its audience.
Well-known artistes from Mangalore will enthrall the audience with a musical show called ‘Retro to Metro’.
The internationally renowned Konkani drama “Aami Nathlyaa Vellar” by Daiji Rang Mandir – Dubai will also be staged during this occasion.
Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, bishop of Udupi diocese will be the chief guest of the event.
